tchaikovsky 300x300The excitement of Tchaikovsky’s music is heard in abundance on this program. From the Russian master there’s the symphony that provides the title of the concert—Winter Dreams, the Symphony No. 1 in g. There’s a suite from one of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballets, Sleeping Beauty, and the concert concludes with a classic ode to bombast-- the 1812 Overture.
