Western Piedmont Symphony: The Planets

Western Piedmont SymphonyThis innovative concert from the Western Piedmont Symphony in Hickory brings together "celestial" music from opposite ends of the 20th century: Holst's visionary suite The Planets and the suite from John Williams' score for the iconic blockbuster film Star Wars. The program opens with a modern arrangement for chorus by Randall Stroope of one of the most memorable melodies from the Holst work.
